AAUW OROVILLE BRANCH LUNCHEON WILL FEATURE SPECIAL GUEST The Oroville branch of the American Association of University Women will host its ‘Welcome Back’ membership luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 7 at the First Congregational Church, corner of Bird and Oak Street. 

OROVILLE, Calif. –The Oroville branch of the American Association of University Women will host its ‘Welcome Back’ membership luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 7 at the First Congregational Church, corner of Bird and Oak Street. The luncheon cost for members is $20 but is free for guests who are prospective members.

Author and historian Nancy Weston, talking about “Oroville’s Treasure: The State and Theatre-Where We’ve Come From and Where We’re Going,” will be their guest speaker for the event. She is most recently known for her first published novel, Digger’s Izy. Weston will have her second book out this October.

They will also have special guest visits from Oroville middle school girls who will talk about a week-long Tech Trek STEM camp they attended at U.C. Davis in July.

Membership in AAUW is open to individuals who hold an associate’s or equivalent, a bachelor’s, or a higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

The Oroville branch focuses on providing its members with educational experiences, they also host social events throughout the year.
